Snack/Lunch
- Hot lunchers must bring snacks for the morning. Please make sure that snacks are designated separately, since many children are not sure what they should eat at snack time and what to save for lunch.
- For children who bring cold lunch, please make sure they bring the appropriate portions, so that they do not throw out most of their lunch.
- The snacks should be something easy and healthy to eat in a short amount of time.
- If you bring a big fruit (i.e. apple or orange) for your child, please make sure it is cut into small slices.
- Please bring a spoon with your child if he or she needs it.
- Some "community snack" will be prepared for those children who forget their own snack.
Money
Please place any money that is coming to school in an envelop (or a baggie, a piece of paper) labeled with the following information:
- Child's first and last name
- Teacher's name
- Amount enclosed
- Purpose of money (lunch, field trip, book order, etc.)
Recess dressing
- We have 25-minute recess time every day. When weather permits, children will play outside.
- During summer, please make sure your child's clothes and shoes are appropriate for moving about on the playground.
- In winter time, please bring gloves, snow pants, boots and hat with your child every day so that they are well prepared to go out.
Birthday celebration
- I will let children understand that birthday celebration is not all about eating treats.
- Some Chinese element will be incorporated into the celebration.
- Birthdays may be celebrated on the actual day. If they occur on the weekend, Monday or Friday will be picked (please let me know). Summer birthdays will be celebrated in May or June.
- If you would like to bring treats, please make them easy to distribute.
